At dusk, hoping to catch the woodcock aerial mating display. We hear turkeys gobbling, geese and ducks, peepers, robins, blackbirds, and cardinals, and catch a glimpse of an eagle chasing an osprey, but no woodcocks on this chilly night.

After I wash off
the glue from my hands,
my fingers feel extra-smooth.
Our former neighbors built a new house and are tearing down their old house across the street from us. First the doors, windows, and chimney, now the roof, soon the walls and floors...
We watch it happen:
the house loses its doors, roof,
opens to spring rain.
